The unknown beauty
La Palma is also called “La Isla Bonita”, the beautiful island. Not least because of the impressive landscapes, the proud volcanoes, extensive woods, amazing beaches and the fantastic sky at night. THE VOLCANOS
The Canary Islands are all of volcanic origin. Roughly 30 million years ago the islands began to form out of the boiling hot magma from the centre of the earth. Then just two million years ago the youngest of the Canary Islands was born: La Palma. The “Isla Bonita” was formed by an undersea volcano, which slowly grew until it emerged above the surface of the ocean.

THE WILDLIFE
The good news: there are no poisonous animals on La Palma. The animal life is not so varied. A typical animal is the Lagarto, a pretty type of lizard with azure blue markings and many song birds, falcons, chough and tame ravens.
